Q1. How did this exercise help you to improve your communication skills?

I think my skills improved through the presentation. 1st presentation, I was a little bit nervous although I had my presentation notes which what I was going to say was written. This was because I couldn't look my notes often since I was making eyecontacts with audience. However,
during the 2nd presentation, I could explain my poster more fluently tha 1st time since.
So I realized that practice is the key to make the presantation successful.


Q2. what advice can you give classmates about poster design?

I felt everyone's poster was really nice and had their originality. However, I found that some people wrote too much information on their poster. Therefore, the letters were tiny and little bit hard to read. As Chris said, poster shouldn't contain too much words, so I thought it would be better if they draw more picture and reduce the amount of sentense.

Interview Questions

My interview questions are about animal rights.
I might change some questions later.

1) What do you think of zoo?

2)How do you feel if you were put in the cage and many people come and watch you everyday.

3)Do you think that human being is the most superior seed on the earth?

Yes→ then, is it OK for human to do anything they want?

No→ then, why we have the zoo and use animals for chemical experiments?


Please tell me what do you think about these questions.

Interview Practice in class

We had an interview practice in CM class.
I asked Ryota, " If you could genetically engineer your child, would you do so?".
His answer was No.
He said taht he wants his baby to born in a natural way, and he doesn't want to have any artificialchanges on his child.
Also, he said that this could be lead the descrimination.

Since my wnswer was Yes, it was very interesting to listen to Ryota's opinion.
I like to ask and discuss some questions with ICU students because they have their opinion with clear reasons.

GM food

I would like to write about GM food.
In the last NP, Professor Paterson talked about it, and it was very intersting topic to think about.
He showed us some video clip: Meatrix.

This movie was about factory farming and I was shocked by the contents of this movie,
because it would be come true in the near future.
In the movie, many livestock were packed in very narrow space and they can't get enough exercise.
Baby cows were fed their food which was made by other cows blood.
Although I am vegetarian and don't eat meat, this movie made me anxious.
I think we have to think about our health more than efficiency and benefit.

Bioethics

The topics I am interested in are...



Animal rights- is the idea that the basic interests of non-human animals.
I am interested in this topic because I love animals. I have heard that some pet animals lost their teeth because pet shop staff broke it because it could hurt people.
I think living animals have right to live like as we human do.
So this topic is really interesting to me.


Chimeras-is an animal which has two or more different animals' genetically distinct cells. I am interested in chimera because this word sounds like fantasy.
